요즘 영화 '왕과 사는 남자'가 인기인 모양이다. 그래서인지... 여기저기에서 영화 관련 '짤'이 알고리즘을 통해 강제로 나타난다. 그런 와중에 위의 짤(?)을 우연히 강제로 보게 되면서 문득 질문들이 떠오르며... 생각에 잠겨본다.
- 목적이나 의도가 좋다고 하더라도, 그것을 수행/집행하는 과정이 좋지 않으면 안 된다. 즉 과정도 좋아야 한다.
- 정의, 합리, 논리, 선량함 등을 '획득/확립/구축'하기 위해서는 '획득/확립/구축'하는 과정도 정의롭고, 합리적이며, 논리적이고 정당하고, 선량해야 한다.
- 한데, 과정과 목적/의도 모두 정당하고, 정의로우면서 논리성과 합리성 등을 두루 갖추는 것이 쉬운가, 아니... 흔한 일인가...?
- 그렇다면... '개같이 벌어서 정승같이 쓴다는 말'도 틀린 말인가...? 작금의 자본주의 시대에 선량하게 돈을 벌어 (소위 말하는) 부자가 되는 것은 일반적인 일인가…? 투기 건, 도박이건, 투자건... 뭐라도 해야 하지 않나? 투기와 투자는 진정 다른 것인가...? (투기 투자 모두 최소의 수고/노력으로 최대의 이익을 얻는 것인데) 다르다면 뭐가 다른가...?
- '선'이 '악'을 제거하려면 필연적으로 (폭력을 통해) 악과 맞서 싸우고 투쟁해야 하는데... 그 '맞서는 행위'는 '선'한 과정인가...?
결론(?): 제아무리 작고 사소한 인간사, 세상사라고 할지라도, 세밀히 면밀히 따져보고, 생각해 보면... (모든 사건, 사고들이) 참으로 난해하고 어려운 난제와 철학적 질문들이 숨어있다. 그래서 인간과 세상 그리고 인간사와 세상사는 매우 어렵고 난해하다. -.-;;;;
사족: 그러한 난해함이 세상을 서서히, 점차 '악'의 방향으로 나아가게 한다. ‘선’은 선을 수행 또는 완성하려면 과정도 '선'해야 하지만, 악은 그런 것 없이도, 그런 것에 신경 쓰지 않아도 악의 수행과 완성이 가능하다. 결국 선은 악을 제거/제압하지 못한다.
다수의 우리는 왜 항상 사라지고, 없어지고, 잃어버린 후에야 후회하며 그 소중함을 다시 회복하려 애를 쓰는가…? 과거를 돌이킬 수 있는 것도 아니고, 그러한 과거를 반복하는 것이 한두 번도 아니고… 그러게 있을 때 좀 잘하지… 왜 허구한 날 지나고 나서 후회하고, 아쉬워하는가...?
These days, the movie The Man Who Lives with the King seems to be popular. Maybe because of that… memes related to the film keep popping up through the algorithm. In the midst of that, I happened to be forced to see the meme above, and suddenly questions came to mind… leading me to reflect. • Even if the purpose or intention is good, if the process of carrying it out is not good, then it’s not acceptable. In other words, the process itself must also be good. • To acquire/establish/build justice, rationality, logic, and goodness, the process of acquiring/establishing/building must itself be just, rational, logical, legitimate, and good. • But is it easy—or common—for both the process and the purpose/intention to be just, righteous, logical, and rational all at once? • Then… does the saying “earn like a dog, spend like a nobleman” turn out to be wrong? In today’s capitalist era, is it really common to earn money in a good, honest way and become what people call “rich”? Don’t you have to engage in speculation, gambling, or investment of some kind? Are speculation and investment truly different? (Both speculation and investment aim to gain maximum profit with minimal effort.) If they are different, then how? • For ‘good’ to eliminate ‘evil,’ it inevitably has to confront and struggle against evil (through violence). But is that act of confrontation itself a ‘good’ process? Conclusion(?): No matter how small or trivial human affairs or worldly matters may seem, when examined closely and carefully, there are always deeply difficult riddles and philosophical questions hidden within. That’s why humanity, the world, and human affairs are all so complex and challenging. -.-;;;; Postscript: Such complexity gradually, little by little, pushes the world toward the direction of ‘evil.’ For ‘good’ to be carried out or completed, the process must also be ‘good.’ But evil doesn’t need that—it can be carried out and completed without regard for the process. In the end, good cannot eliminate or suppress evil. Why is it that so many of us only realize the value of things after they disappear, vanish, or are lost—regretting and trying to recover them afterward? The past cannot be undone, and repeating such mistakes is not rare… Why don’t we take better care of things while we still have them, instead of always regretting and feeling sorry after they’re gone…
