세상이 아직 건재한 이유...
훈훈한 이야기는 갈수록 희박해지는 와중에... 위와 같은 소식을 보고 있자니... 세상이 건재한 이유는 소수(?)의 현자 혹은 선인에 의한 것이지 싶다. 대체로 현자 혹은 선인은 다수가 아닌 소수다.
혹자는 사소한 선량함을 사소하다는 이유로 조롱하고, 비웃을지도 모르겠으나... 선량한 마음을 갖는다는 건... 생각처럼 단순하거나 쉬운 일은 아니다. 막상 닥치고 보면 회피하고, 외면하는 것이 대체적인 인지상정이기 때문이다.
그럼에도 불구하고... 세상에는 타인의 고통에 대해 연만을 갖고, (크건 작건) 선한 행위를 실천하는 사람들이 있다. 인간은 참으로 오묘한 존재다. 어떤 사람은 수고로움과 손해를 무릎쓰고 타인을 돕기도 하고, 어떤 사람은 악행을 일삼으면서도 호가호위하며 천수를 누리기도 하는 것이 인간세상이니 말이다.
인간이 어떠한 인생 혹은 삶을 살 것인지는 온전히 스스로의 선택이다.

While heartwarming stories grow increasingly rare… seeing news like the one above makes me think… the reason the world endures is thanks to a small number of sages or virtuous people. Generally, sages or virtuous people are few, not many.
Some may mock or ridicule small acts of kindness simply because they seem trivial… but to possess a kind heart is not as simple or easy as one might think. When faced with reality, most people tend to avoid or turn away, because that is the common human tendency.
Nevertheless… there are people in this world who feel compassion for the suffering of others and practice good deeds, whether great or small. Humanity is truly a mysterious existence. Some willingly bear hardship and loss to help others, while others commit evil repeatedly yet still enjoy long lives under the protection of power. Such is the human world.
Ultimately, what kind of life a person chooses to live is entirely their own decision."**
