A Justice’s Rebuke(?) – AI Can’t Deliver the Final Verdict…?

A Justice’s Rebuke(?) – AI Can’t Deliver the Final Verdict…?

Well… if what we call “empathy” is ultimately nothing more than electrical signals or patterns firing among the brain’s billions of neurons and synapses, then the claim that AI can never possess empathy strikes me as arrogance and hubris that will collapse in the not‑too‑distant future.

The more pressing issue right now is the profoundly inhuman, irrational behavior we see from human judges, prosecutors, and lawyers. And isn’t it itself a kind of dereliction of duty to simply leave such inhuman, unempathetic rulings, indictments, and defenses unaddressed—ignored, excused, or brushed aside?

So the argument that human judges are somehow more qualified because they have empathy, and therefore AI cannot render final judgments, is not persuasive at all. On the contrary, it reflects the deeply authoritarian, premodern, elitist sense of superiority that currently pervades the judiciary.
