not many democratic countries in East Asia?

Sometimes I think that there is no democratic countries

in East Asia countries except South Korea.

Around South Korea, there is North Korea, China where dictatorship dominates and controls the whole country including the people and their freedom.

Japan? Japan is not democratic country even if it looks like.

And all another countries in East Asia are not

fully or reasonably democratic countries.

Sometimes I wonder why Asia countries are less democratic, and
why more old-fashioned or pre-modern comparing with West countries.
