Sports days, picnics, and school trips may all disappear.
In fact, school education itself might vanish, leaving only the act of providing information and knowledge. If that happens… learning wisdom at school will no longer be possible. Schools would become like cram schools, merely places that deliver knowledge.
But… this phenomenon is not limited to education alone. Because of some foolish or ignorant parents, the damage caused by overprotection spreads from kindergarten to university, even into the military. Of course, the person most harmed is the individual directly involved. Yet if that person could recognize it themselves, it wouldn’t have become a problem in the first place. (The saying “BS doesn’t know why it is BS” is almost true.)
It’s like the principle I once wrote about: bad money driving out good, or “evil” pushing out “good.” In other words, if we dismiss or neglect the actions of a minority, that minority ends up harming the whole. And yet, the perpetrators are not punished—and in reality, cannot be punished.
This shows that the world is neither rational, nor fair, nor just. The persistence of “evil”—whether in the form of entitlement, arrogance, abuse of power, ignorance, or shamelessness—is one reason it never disappears.
Evil will probably never vanish. Good will endlessly struggle against it. Perhaps the reason human life feels so hard and exhausting is precisely this endless battle with evil. That’s why even small evils must not be left unchecked… but the problem is, there’s no clear way to deal with them. Unlike evil, which faces no restrictions, good is always constrained in some way. That makes the realization of good, rationality, justice, and fairness extremely difficult.

운동회 소풍 수학여행 모두 사라질지도 모른다. 아니 혹시 학교 교육 자체가 사라지고 정보/지식을 제공하는 행위만 남을지도 모르지. 그렇게 되면... 더이상 학교에서 지혜를 배운다는 것은 불가능해질 것이다. 학원처럼 그냥 지식만을 전달하는 곳이 되겠지.
한데... 그러한 현상이 비단 교육계에만 국한 된 얘기는 아니다. 일부(?) 어리석거나 우매한 학부모, 부모 들로 인해서 유치원에서부터 대학, 군대 등 과잉보호로 인한 피해는 다수에게 전파된다. 물론 가장 큰 피해를 입는 건 당사자겠지만… 그걸 당사자 스스로 자각할 수 있다면 애초에 문제로 부상하진 않았을 것이다.(’BS은 자기가 왜 BS인지 모른다.‘는 말은 거의 진리다.)
그것은 마치 (예전에 포스팅했던) 악화가 양화를 구축하는 것과 같고, '악'이 '선'을 몰아내는 것과 같다.
즉, 소수(?), 일부(?)라고 방관하거나 방임하게 되면 그 일부, 그 소수로 인해 전체가 피해를 입게 되는 것이다. 그렇다고 문제를 야기한 당사자를 처벌 하지도 않고, 사실상 처벌할수도 없다.
이처럼 세상은 합리적이지도, 공정하지 않고, 정의롭지도 않다. 진상, 갑질, 특권의식, 선민의식, 몰상식, 몰염치 등등의 여러 이름을 가진 ‘악’이 사라지지 않는 이유 중 하나다.
아마 영원히 ‘악’은 사라지지 않을 것이다. 오직 선은 악과 끝없이 투쟁할 것이다. 따지고 보면 인간의 삶과 인생이 힘들고 피곤한 이유도 그런 끝없는 악과의 투쟁 때문은 아닐까 싶기도 하다. 그런 이유로 악은 비록 사소하더라도 방치해서는 안 되지만... 방법이 마땅치 않다. 어떤 제약이나 제한이 없는 악과 달리... 선은 항상 언제나 어떤 식의 제약, 제한이 뜨리기 때문에 '선' 혹은 합리성 혹은 정의 공정 같은 것들의 실현은 매우 어려운 일이다.
