Even if people collude to embezzle hundreds of billions, squander trillions, commit fraud, or even beat down an intruding robber… the reality is that blame is placed on the victim. We live in an era where “evil” mocks and ridicules “good,” where robbers and criminals sue their victims… Who could have created such a world…?

If we trace the fundamental responsibility, it would lie with the majority who make up society—the citizens, the public, the people. But one of the most direct responsibilities surely rests with legal professionals and those working in the judicial system.

Of course, they too have their own reasons, excuses, and justifications. Unfortunately, I don’t know all those reasons, excuses, and justifications in detail.

The fact that the majority avoid, ignore, and turn a blind eye to the extreme minority of “evil” has also played a part. And yes, I am one of that majority. That is why—even if it is only a small minority of “evil”—we need not just a shield, but a clear weapon to eliminate it.

단합으로 수천 억, 몇 조를 해쳐 먹어도, 사기를 쳐도, 침입한 강도를 때려잡아도... 피해를 입은 사람에게 잘못을 묻는 현실. '악'이 '선'을 조롱하고 비웃는 시대, 강도가/범죄자가 피해자를 고소하는 시대... 누가 만들었을까...?

본질적인 책임을 따지자면 사회를 구성하는 다수의 사람들-즉, 시민/대중/국민들이겠지만... 가장 직접적 책임 중 하나는 바로 법조인 및 법조계에 종사하는 사람들이 아닐까 싶다.

물론 그들도 나름의 이런저런 이유와 변명과 핑계가 있겠지만 말이다. 아쉽게도 내가 그러한 이런저런 이유, 변명, 핑계까지는 잘 모르겠다.

다수의 사람들이 극렬한 소수의 '악'을 회피하고, 외면하고, 방관하는 것도 한몫을 했을 것이다. 물론 나도 그 다수 중 한 사람이다. 그래서 비록 소수의 '악'이라 할지라도 방패보다는 소수의 악을 제거할 분명한 무기가 필요하다는 것이다.
